Refurbishment of a home in Ondategi – Las Arenas
Interior design: Macarena Barcia
Year of completion: 2014
Location: Home in Ondategi. Las Arenas. Bizkaia
Materials used: melamine
Home in Calle Ondategi. Las Arenas. Getxo.
In this home, the carpentry and other installations, ceilings, walls, etc., were fully refurbished.
A design was made to make the room doors and wardrobe doors the same, with three squares adapted to each door width and recessed into the front of the leaf.
We included stainless steel fixtures on the doors, plain jambs, doors with squares without any type of moulding, plain, grooved skirting (with a 6 mm groove).
The wardrobes in the home were lacquered on the outside and included melamine with a light grey textile finish on the inside. The wardrobes were equipped with hanger bars, shelves, fully removable drawers and shoe trays.
The image below shows, to the left of the wardrobe, the proposed solution to hide the existing radiator: we made two leaves with an upper and a lower grille for easier air circulation to ensure the radiator worked properly. Vertical bands form an original, lacquered grille.
This grille appearance is adapted and used on all of the wardrobes in the home.
In the lounge, an entrance door measuring 140 cm wide was installed, with glazed openings that respect the heights of the squares, with clear glass in the door. The sliding system used for the door is by Scrigno.
