Complete home renovation in Las Arenas
This project consisted in a complete renovation of a home in Las Arenas, including the living room, master bedroom and the other rooms of the home, except for the bathrooms. Project designed by Macarena Barcia.
Looking at the floor plans, we can see how the master bedroom has been turned into a large living room, while the bedroom now occupies another area of the home.
A dividing door has been built in the hallway to ensure the privacy of this area and a large living room has been created. The wall in the middle was once used as a fireplace and has been kept as a structural partition between the living room and a more intimate living area.
The fireplace has been clad with central and bottom panels and classic style trim. The entire structure is furnished with skirting. Two recesses have been made for shelves.
Two partitions, with 9 glass panes at the top and a central panel at the bottom, have been installed to divide the living room and the dining area. The walls of the dining area are clad with a one metre-high panel, lacquered in white.
The dining area opens to the terrace, now adjacent to the living room, through two arches made with lacquered wood finished with a straight trim. The result is a traditional atmosphere, where the shapes of each element and the clean and simply trimmings play their role to adapt the entire setting to modern tastes.
